Spirit 8 is a perfect choice as a Centre Speaker in High Class Multichannel Setups. During the development, special attention was paid to vocal reproduction and an optimized dispersion pattern. Both factors are of fundamental importance for homogeneous and natural surround sound, as reproduction of the Human Voice is primarily projected via the Centre Channel. The optimization was done by adding a waveguide to the silk dome tweeter and by spending huge effort on the development of the high quality crossover. The customized drivers are unique spirit series and provide a matching acoustic balance and sonic signature throughout the Frequency range to highest dynamics and accuracy. Thus Spirit 8 is a key element for creating an immersive home cinema experience.
DRIVERS
The 25mm silk dome tweeter originates from own development and is optimized in dispersion pattern and distortion by the use of a waveguide. By increasing the efficiency, it is possible to achieve very high SPL with XTZ Spirit 8 but also play extremely clean and detailed at lower SPL. The 6 1/2″ mid/bass drivers contribute to the excellente voice reproduction due to their outstanding stiffness-weight ratio which is achieved by using a c-cone-sandwich membrane. The magnetic system behind the drivers is completely linear and enables the drivers to act with high deflections.
SOUND TUNING
The backside of XTZ Spirit 8 offers several possibilities to adjust the sound to the room acoustics and your personal preferences. The jumper at the speaker terminal can be used to adjust the tweeter level which is very helpful in modern reverberant surroundings. Furthermore it is possible to alter the basic characteristics of the speaker by using the attached plugs to close both or only one bass reflex port. If you place the speaker near a wall, this possibility helps to optimize the sound.
CABINET
Besides the strong magnets of the drivers, the high weight of XTZ Spirit 8 originates from the massive cabinet construction. The front baffle is 25mm thick, the side walls 18mm. Both are made from MDF which provides a strong internal daming. Additional stiffeners ensure minimum resonances together with the special damping material which is used inside the cabinet. Thus Spirit 8 can also reproduce deepest bass without loss of precision or accuracy.
SURFACE
The ornate polished multilayer paint makes Spirit 8 an absolute highlight and gives the center speaker a high-class look. The finish is available in matte black and matte white to ensure a perfect integration into your living area. The colours even benefit the modern design of XTZ Spirit 8.
TERMINAL
The gold plated screw terminal guarantees an optimum lock for your speaker cables. Thus a safe connection and best signal transmission can be ensured. In addition the terminal contains the jumper for the adjustment of the tweeter.
FRONT COVER
The pluggable cover protects the drivers on the one hand from dust and on the other from possible damage. To ensure perfect sound transmisssion, the cover is sound transparent and does not have any influence on the sound of the speaker.
